Choose an injection site
Common/Preferred subcutaneous injection sites for Estrogen:
Tummy.
Around navel.
Two or more inches away from the navel (right or left side works).
Thighs.
Front side, slightly outer.
Butt.
Above crack, outer side of butt.
If you have a friend injecting you, butt would be a good choice.
If you are doing it on your own, tummy or thighs would work.
Choose injection amount
If using Estradiol enanthate 10ml (50mg/ml), inject once a week.
About 0.08ml each injection. The vial should last for about 120 injections.
(If using EE 40mg/ml, it would be about 0.1ml each injection)
Gather supplies
Prepare
Wash hands.
Remove cap from rubber stopper (if it has one).
Do not remove the lid/top that the rubber stopper sits in.
Disinfect rubber stopper with wipe (and let dry).
Disinfect chosen injection site with wipe.
Drawing liquid
Attach drawing needle to syringe.
Draw some air into the syringe.
Same amount as you will inject. (It’s to balance the pressure in the vial)
Remove cap from needle.
Insert needle into vial
using a coring prevention technique.
Grab and hold vial upside down
Push the air into vial.
Pull liquid into syringe.
Draw a bit more than your dose, and then push back the excess into the vial, or else you’ll have too much air in the syringe.
Hold vial right side up.
Pull needle out of vial.
Put cap back on needle.
Wipe off any liquid on the rubber stopper.
(With disinfection wipe if you’d like)
Remove needle
(with some paper for better grip, or using sharps container hole)
Put the needle in your sharps container.
Injection time
Attach injection needle to syringe.
Remove cap from needle.
Hold syringe and needle upward
and tap it (not the metal part) with your finger like in the movies
and push out until a small drop comes out.
Grab skin at injection side between thumb and two fingers. See fig →
Push the needle (quickly) into the injection site
at a 75-45 degree angle.
Keep the syringe as steady as you can.
Slowly push plunger all the way in.
Pull out syringe.
Put cap back on needle.
Remove needle
(with some paper for better grip, or using sharps container hole)
Put the needle in your sharps container.
Put plaster on the injection site.
Congrat.
